Galley Kitchen Remodel

We performed the kitchen remodel on this 1950s-era home. 1950s and 60s-era ranch and cape style homes are notorious for having confined galley kitchens. Here's a great example of opening up the wall between the kitchen and dining room in a 1950s-era cape to transform the feel and efficiency. In this project, we've gutted the existing kitchen to allow for a new kitchen layout with a peninsula where the dividing wall and closet used to be. The cabinets are from Marsh Furniture in a beautifully finished Maple, with a combination of granite countertops and tile backsplash that really compliment each other. Notice the attention to detail on preserving the original stained mouldings as they integrate with the bead board on the peninsula cabinets. The result is a beautiful example of blending old with the new to create a more open floorplan in an old cape.
